Chad Fortin

A life long musician, Chad Fortin adds a chunky edge to hard funky house. As a percussionist for over 20 years, his style is extremely unique, blending funky drums with deep aggressive bass lines. Occasionally dropping in an original 70's or 80's classic over a techy hard-hitter, his mixing skill is impeccable and his programming abilities are top notch. A true entertainer, Chad’s energy behind the decks draws in the crowd and keeps them moving until his last record drops. He consistently stomps out track after track of raw, funky house music, ready made for big sound systems.

Chad’s versatility as a musician and entertainer, keep him busy playing on a consistent basis. From large big room venues to small intimate club settings, Chad can be seen playing local, national, and international events. In the early summer 2004 Chad embarked on the Camel Cigarettes Speakeasy Tour, a 30-city national tour headlining with Charles Feelgood and Scooter & Lavelle. From Denver through Detroit, Chad played with Little Louie Vega at the Crobar in Miami, and with Mark Farina at Ruby Skye in San Francisco. In addition, he holds a monthly residency at one of San Diego’s most prestigious venues, the On Broadway Event Center. Chad’s extensive experience behind the turntables has given him the opportunity to share the main stage with well acclaimed artist, such as Carl Cox, Doc Martin, Donald Glaude, Roger Sanchez, and Armin Van Buuren.

Executive Officer of Injoy Presents, an electronic music event and promotion company, Chad and business partner Jason Tokita successfully showcase national and international talent at their events throughout the West Coast. Their events have featured well known artists, such as Hipp-E and Halo, The Lawnchair Generals, and Derrick Carter. With great attention to detail and sound quality, these events garner respect and recognition from the local electronic music community and keep club goers well satisfied.
